CircEsteem programs give students a chance to shine as center-ring stars in their very own circus, enhancing self-esteem as they overcome obstacles, achieve goals, and proudly exclaim, "Look what I can do!" Fostering confidence and cooperation, our professional circus staff teaches a variety of skills such as clowning, juggling, stilt-walking, ball-walking, unicycling, gym wheel and acrobatics. Students progress at their own pace while working hands-on with instructors in a safe and supportive environment.

CircEsteem Scholarship Fund

CE GradsCircEsteem makes an incredible investment of time, energy, love, and dollars into the youth participants. As our youth performers grow, the idea of going to college becomes an obstacle. For many youth, they will be the first in their families to go to college. CircEsteem invests in kids’ futures while giving them incredible skills in performance, instruction, and project development. In 2004 CircEsteem started a college savings program. For every dollar the CircusTeens save for college CircEsteem matches dollar for dollar.

In 2006, we formally established the CircEsteem Scholarship fund and partnered with Scholarship Chicago. By partnering with Scholarship Chicago, CircEsteem participants will received five years of assistance over three different phases.

Phase one

High school seniors are given assistance navigating the admissions and financial aid process, and campus visits.

Phase two

Spans the first two years of college and addresses academic challenges, social issues, and offers peer to peer mentors.

Phase three

Helps students with future career planning, resume crafting, networking, and securing internship opportunities.

The scholarship fund was established with over $15,000 through generous donors and by allocating 10% of performance and workshop fees in which youth participates.
