CircEsteem is proud of its high school graduates who have all shown that with determination and a belief in oneself, anything is possible. CircEsteem works hard to help graduates follow their dreams with job opportunities, college scholarships and the knowledge that they always have a safe place and a circus family to come back to.

Jake

Jake is a Chicago native who joined CircEsteem in 2004. He joined the circus out of a love for juggling, but stayed to develop skills in areas such as trampoline and clowning. Since joining the troupe Jake has attended the AYCO festival, gone on tour, and performed in St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and all over Chicago. He especially appreciates CircEsteem’s ability to bring together kids from every walk of life through circus arts. In his free time Jake likes to cook, camp, and participate in Model United Nations conferences.

CircEsteem has made me a better person. I’ve learned from my circus team to put trust in others and to earn other people’s trust. I’ve learned by conquering my fear of the trapeze, that even if you don’t like something at first, you should always give it another try. I’ve learned through juggling, my most challenging skill, that with lots of hard work I can do anything. Most importantly, I’ve learned through CircEsteem MD, performing at hospitals, that everyone needs a smile, and circus always brings that smile.
