Aerial Arts

One of the most beautiful parts of the circus, students can experience the static trapeze, silks, web and lyra. Students will develop flexibility and full body strength as well as confidence and grace. The class is open to students ages 7 and up and all skill levels.  All students will have an opportunity to perform in CircEsteem’s annual Spring and Winter Circuses.

Aerial Arts Level 1 – Wed. 4:00pm-5:00pm OR  Sat. 11:00am-12:00am  Class Codes: AARTW16 and AARTS11, respectively
Pre-requisite: None
This class will focus on static trapeze and hanging fabric (a.k.a, silk/tissu). Building strength, coordination, and a basic aerialist vocabular

Lyra/Aerial HoopSaturdays 9:00am-10:00am  Class Codes: AARTS9
Pre-requisite: Aerial Arts Level 1 Skill Competency and Instructor Permission
Building on the foundational skills and aerialist vocabulary introduced in Aerial Arts Level 1, this class will introduce similar, but complimentary aerial equipment. As with all other Aerial Arts, flexibility, grace and full body strength will be emphasized.

Silk, Tissu & Fabric, Level 1 – Saturdays 8:00am-9:00am   Class Code: SILK1S8
Pre-requisites: None
This class will focus on hanging fabric (a.k.a., silk or tissu). Building strength, coordination, and a basic aerialist vocabulary are its goals.  As with all other Aerial Arts, flexibility, grace and full body strength will be emphasized.

Pre-requisite: Aerial Arts Level 1 Skill Competency and Instructor Permission
Building on the skills introduced in Aerial Arts Level 1, students in this class will focus on more difficult fabric tricks, flexibility and grace along with full body strength.

Trapeze Level 1 – Saturdays 9:00am-10:00am     Class Code: TRAP1S9
Pre-requisite: None
This class will focus on static trapeze. Building strength, coordination, and a basic aerialist vocabulary are its goals.

Trapeze Level 2 – Saturdays 8:00am-9:00am    Class Code: TRAP2S8
Pre-requisite: Aerial Arts Level 1 Skill Competency and Instructor Permission
Building on the skills introduced in Aerial Arts Level 1, students in this class will focus on more difficult trapeze tricks, flexibility and grace along with full body strength.

Spanish Web and Rope  Saturdays 12:00pm-1:00pm   Class Code: AARTS12
Pre-Requisite: Aerial Arts Level 1 Skill Competency and Instructor Permission

Traditionally, Spanish Web distinguishes itself from Rope (a.k.a. corde lisse) by its hand/foot loop which the aerialist uses for spins and hangs. This class is for your whirling dervish of the air.
