Responsibilities The Director of Operations (DO) will be a member of CircEsteem’s Leadership Team. The Director of Operations must be able to work in a fast-paced and multi-tasked environment with confidence and efficiency while also knowing how to slow down enough to pause, notice and reflect on the performance of our operations and systems. The ideal candidate will be creative, organized, and able to create and implement strategies based on a framework of goals created with the leadership team and also nurtures and bolsters a culture of learning, collaboration, continuous improvement. The DO has primary responsibility for overseeing facilities, vehicle management, procurement, streamlined human resource functions, IT systems and inventory management. They will supervise 3-5 members of the operations and administrative team. This position will have a regular work week of Monday through Friday, approximately 9am – 5pm. Occasional weekend and evening special events occur throughout the year, which are also mandatory for all staff to support and attend. Operations, Technology and Systems  Oversee management and maintenance of all office systems, youth spaces, and additional facilities.  In coordination with the Operations Coordinator, develop and oversee risk assessment and emergency planning policies and procedures.  Design and oversee the operational implementation of the annual Gala and large scale organizational events.  Coordinate and support the program staff to organize field trips, order buses and ensure vehicles are in good working and safety condition.  Oversee the maintenance and repair of facility, vehicle fleet, and circus equipment.  Support the IT functions of the organization, including identifying areas of need.  Maintain and manage a sufficient portfolio of insurance coverage. Human Resources  Enhance and manage onboarding and offboarding systems for all employees.  Manage and analyze our annual organizational conditions data to ensure it is useful and accessible to key staff to improve our overall organizational culture.  Provide staff, particularly new employees, training on key operational procedures, policies, and related changes.  Ensure that the organizational operations are aligned to the employee handbook. Administrative  Assist with special events and fundraising events throughout the year.  Attend necessary professional development workshops, events, and training seminars. Qualifications  Minimum 7 years of experience in a leadership role of an organization with more than 10 full-time employees.  Effectively manage and lead an operations team to achieve aligned goals of the programs team.  Demonstrated success in a leadership position in non-profit organizations or other youth centered organizations in diverse environments.  The ability to collaborate effectively while working independently and actively uses feedback to assess both.  A solid understanding of spreadsheets (Excel and Google Sheets preferred), Google Drive, Calendar, and email, and other online/computer software used for organizing and communicating.  Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills including strong oral and writing skills, detail-orientation, managing multiple email accounts and engaging with internal staff and external partners.  Candidates must demonstrate high levels of self-awareness and the ability to actively listen, be empathic and build strong relationships with a diverse group of individuals and groups that reflects our organizational vision, mission and core values.  Understanding youth programs, program delivery, and the operational indicators of success.  Proven experience working cross functionally amongst multiple departments.  Keeps up with trends and best practices in the field leading operations. Homework & Circus Work

Our free after-school tutoring program is in need of volunteer tutors to help students from 2nd – 10th grade, as they work on their homework or other academic enrichment activities.  This program meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

Performances

Performances at CircEsteem happen twice a year (Winter and Spring) and are always in need of help with Costumes, Sets, Lights and Sound. Support our young performers and add some razzle dazzle.
